Wedgewood Ballroom

The challenge is real: how to capture an increasingly elusive millennial audience with unscripted content. How are they watching? Why are they watching? What are they watching? New platforms are racking up billions of views for shareable content, and viral sensations, new and returning, are setting ratings records, so it seems that someone has cracked the code. This session will bring together some of the leading media brands making the connection, to discuss how they do it, and why it’s important for the genre.

The Surge of Social Entertainment (1:45pm - 2:45pm)

Wedgewood Ballroom

The proliferation of social media platforms moving into the content space continues at a quickening pace, and producers are keen to join the action. Each platform taking the plunge aims to deliver a unique programming offering to its users, distinct from what is currently available via linear and SVOD, and also distinct from its competitors. But in every case, the content is meant to be social, shareable, and smartphone friendly. Hear from leading social video platforms and producers about how to craft content that connects audiences to the programming, the platform, and to each other.

Pitching Partners (11:15am - 12:15pm)

Wilshire I & II

Much like our signature Speed Pitching sessions, production execs, each at their own table, will take one-on-one three-minute pitches from potential production partners. Slots are limited, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants who have successfully signed up for a pitching partners spot should check in at the session room for processing 20 minutes in advance of their scheduled time or risk forfeiting their slot. For those who did not secure a spot in advance, some space may become available due to no-shows. Arrive at the session 20 minutes before start time and check with the room monitor.

Some production companies may require you to sign a submission release or non-disclosure agreement in advance of your meeting. If this is required by the company you are pitching to, the room monitor at the face to face check-in desk onsite will hand you the release for you to review, sign and deliver directly to your host during your meeting time slot.

*Advance sign up is required - A total of one (1) pitching spot can be reserved.

Sign ups open Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00am ET.

This year: After Frances McDormand uttered the words “inclusion rider” in her acceptance speech at the Oscars, the idea that film and television sets should be inclusive and diverse gained widespread attention and support.
