Max Micallef serves as Director of Development for Discovery Channel. In this role, he works alongside international and domestic producers to develop prime-time series for the network, while helping to steer strategy for new projects.
During his time with the network, Micallef has been an instrumental part of the Discovery team that is responsible for developing or producing such hits as Finding Escobar’s Millions, Killing Fields, Amish Mafia, and Moonshiners.
Before joining Discovery Channel, Micallef was a Production Assistant for Discovery Studios in Silver Spring, MD. While at Discovery Studios, he was responsible for pitching and developing projects for multiple networks including Texas Drug Wars and Shipwreck Men for Discovery Channel and Hoarding: Buried Alive for TLC.
Micallef holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and History with a minor in Political Science. He is based out of the Discovery Communications’ east coast office in New York, NY.
