Keynote Conversation: Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment

The man behind some of the biggest unscripted hits on American broadcast television will take part in a special keynote interview at Realscreen West. Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment's president of alternative and late night programming, will also be inducted into the Realscreen Awards Hall of Fame as this year's Television Trailblazer following the keynote interview.
The award honors Telegdy for his career-spanning commitment and contribution to the unscripted programming genre. The first recipient of the Television Trailblazer award was Nancy Dubuc, president and chief executive officer of A+E Networks.
Telegdy oversees NBC's unscripted series and specials programming, including such major franchises as The Voice, America's Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, the Golden Globe Awards, The Celebrity Apprentice, The Biggest Loser, Hollywood Game Night, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the U.S. broadcast network's latest unscripted smash, Little Big Shots. His oversight also includes NBC's philanthropic event for "Red Nose Day".
He is also responsible for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Last Call with Carson Daly and Saturday Night Live.
Telegdy was promoted to the position of president, alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment in September 2011, after previously serving as executive vice president, alternative programming, NBC and Universal Television, since December 2008.
Before arriving at NBC and Universal Television Studios, Telegdy served as EVP of sales, content and production at BBC Worldwide America from March 2008 until December 2008.
At the BBC, he increased the business market value by 100-fold. He also drove new business models and development across the company, negotiated major distribution and production deals, and nurtured new relationships with platforms for BBC content and intellectual property.
Earlier, Telegdy was senior vice president, BBC Productions Los Angeles, and BBC Worldwide America. During this time, he developed Dancing with the Stars, which has become one of the industry's perennial top series hits.
During his keynote conversation at Realscreen West, slated for June 8, Telegdy will discuss his career in television, his thoughts on the health of the unscripted industry, and his ideas regarding where it is headed in the immediate future.
