Michael has worked in the television industry for 30 years, specifically in the fields of broadcasting, producing, commissioning and development. He started his career while still in school as a researcher and writer at pubcaster WDR in Cologne. Michael’s subsequent positions have included TV Director at entertainment producer BRAINPOOL; Creative Producer for RTL Television’s entertainment department; Executive Producer and Consultant for Granada Germany; and Editorial Director at young entertainment station VIVA.

Michael joined ProSiebenSat.1 Media in 2005, undertaking various roles including SVP of Entertainment for German Free-TV operations. During his time at ProSiebenSat.1, Michael’s productions have been honoured with a German TV award, a number of German comedy awards and the prestigious Grimme Award.

His strong producing and commissioning background has earned him considerable respect in the international TV community.

As Chief Creative Officer of Red Arrow Studios, Michael was a member of the management team that founded the company in 2010, Since then he oversaw Red Arrow’s global development, acquisitions, creative partnerships, and international production rollouts worldwide.

Michael was appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board of Vault AI, an advisory company specialized in pre-audience AI content analytics and performance prediction and serves on the board of the New York Television Festival NYTVF, the Format Recognition and Protection Association (FRAPA), faculty member of the Entertainment Masterclass and a cofounder of “Comedy for Change”, a non-for-profit organization supported by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation.

Michael lives with his wife and their three children and a fluctuating population of guinea pigs and hamsters in New York.
