Dana J. Olkkonen is the Head of Content Operations for Vox Media Studios, where she oversees the creative and business operations for Vox Media Studios’ original programming division. The ambitious full-service division develops, produces and distributes premium, non-fiction programming for TV and OTT platforms. Olkkonen most recently served as the VP of Development leading the entertainment division’s LA-based development team. As Head of Content Operations, Olkkonen has been instrumental in working across development and production to bring to life a wide variety of series for multiple platform partners, all supporting Vox Media’s commitment to telling stories beyond the headlines.
Recent projects include: RETRO TECH for Youtube Originals, NO PASSPORT REQUIRED for PBS, CONSIDER IT on Facebook, FOUL PLAY on Verizon’s Go90 and the most recently announced SHOW ME THE EVIDENCE (working title) for Youtube Originals and Hulu Kitchen - a multi-year output deal to produce Hulu’s first slate of food-focused programming in partnership with David Chang’s Majordomo Media and Chrissy Teigan’s Suit and Thai Productions. Before joining Vox, Olkkonen led development for Toronto-based production company JV Productions and served as VP of Development for Authentic Entertainment.
