As Senior Vice President, Unscripted Programming, BBC Studios, Travis Shakespeare oversees the creative development and production of multiple unscripted shows. He currently serves as an Executive Producer on the two time Emmy® winning docu-reality series Life Below Zero (National Geographic Channel) as well as the U.S. version of the BBC’s global motoring brand, Top Gear America (BBC AMERICA). Shakespeare is also credited as Executive Producer on the BBC Studios series Ladies of London (Bravo), Living with the Enemy (Lifetime), Top Gear USA (History), and Port Protection (National Geographic Channel).
Prior to joining BBC Studios, Shakespeare worked across a variety of successful television titles including Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Black Gold, The Wild Within, Gourmet’s Adventures with Ruth, and Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie, as well as the feature film All That Remains.
Shakespeare has been honored with three Daytime Emmy® nominations for his work on Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie and Gourmet’s Adventures with Ruth, and the 2011 James Beard Award for his work on The Wild Within. Additionally, he has received two Silver Medals at the New York Festivals TV Broadcast Awards, a 2007 Banff Award, and two James Beard nominations for Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie.
