Robyn Lattaker-Johnson is a dynamic leader and creatively collaborative television executive responsible for developing and shepherding top-rated franchises for multiple networks. She is currently the Head of Content & Development at REVOLT Media & TV, where she oversees all original long form content across all linear and digital platforms, programming and scheduling, acquisitions, production and postproduction for the network group.
With over 20 years in entertainment spanning film, television, casting, physical production, development and current programming, Robyn Lattaker-Johnson has experience built across many disciplines, as well as razor-sharp creative instincts. Her expertise as a TV executive includes developing content in all genres of unscripted and reality-based programming, packaging star talent and authentic voices on both sides of the camera, as well as managing and motivating “work-smart” development teams. Robyn has also cultivated scripted, animation and feature properties.
This hands-on and bustling background led Robyn to starting her own television management and consulting company in 2015 where she assists producers, production companies, on-camera talent and networks with the development or acquisition of creative content, packaging, linear and/or digital distribution, branded entertainment partnerships and business planning. Robyn also manages a select roster of show runners, directors, composers, casting producers, production companies and unscripted content creators. Robyn has secured staffing and/or collaboration deals with Bunim-Murray, Authentic Entertainment, Defy Media, Jarrett Creative Group, Cabana 512, Conveyor Media, Asylum Entertainment, Langley Productions and BET Networks – to name just a few.
Prior to her role as a media consultant and manager, Robyn most recently served as Vice President of Unscripted Programming at the Syfy network, an NBC Universal Comcast company, Robyn refreshed the reality TV landscape with the successful Face Off franchise, a special effects makeup competition series premiering its 11th season in January of 2017 and currently casting season 12. Additionally, Robyn oversaw the day-to-day creative and production aspects of top reality series Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge, Ghost Hunters (200+ eps), Wizard Wars and Paranormal Witness, among others. In her first year, Robyn took over Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files at the end of its first cycle. She creatively shifted gears, thus driving ratings increases each week for Season 2 and generating a weekly “most watched episode ever” PR buzz.
Before Syfy, Robyn was an independent producer and consultant developing scripted, unscripted and digital content. She was the show runner of BET’s Comic View: One Mic Stand where she hooked Kevin Hart to host.
From 2005-08, Robyn was Senior Vice President of Original Programming at BET Networks/Viacom where she hand-selected and built the programming team while also spearheading the network's most successful and acclaimed original series including Baldwin Hills, American Gangster, Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, Hell Date, Lil’ Kim: Countdown to Lockdown, Season of the Tiger, Ballers, Take the Cake and the gospel powerhouse Sunday Best, a franchise still airing on the network. Under Robyn’s key influence and oversight, BET’s programming slate grew from 4 original series to approximately 12 series per year.
Robyn served as Director of Alternative, Development and Production, at the Sci Fi channel in the four years before BET. At that time she launched Ghost Hunters, Mad Mad House - Sci Fi’s first competition series, The Dream Team talk show and the hidden camera prank series phenomenon Scare Tactics with Shannen Doherty. Prior to that, Robyn held key roles as a line producer and production manager Robyn Lattaker-Johnson --- Network Executive --- Professional BIO --- 03/18 2 working in feature films, music videos and commercials.
As a senior level creative executive in Alternative Programming, Robyn collaboratively crafted shows from scratch with producers in the development process; targeted talent and strategic partners in order to create buzzy, branded product; worked with business affairs teams to find win-win contract solutions in the negotiation process; ran development and current teams overseeing upwards of 150hrs per year; and, creatively was a code-cracker striving to generate first-to-market ideas and story-telling devices for the future of television. Add to that, Robyn has cultivated strong relationships with agents, show runners, production companies and talent, and also had the ability to adeptly navigate network operations. Robyn has also employed an inclusive management style, which with her history for building hit shows, made her an effective and approachable team leader who inspired exceptional execution.
Robyn Lattaker-Johnson has an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Film Directing, and graduated cum laude from the University of Washington with a BA in Communications, Broadcast Journalism. Robyn is often called upon for her expertise in the field of entertainment to speak at college and university film and TV programs around the country. Most recently she’s spoken to students at UCLA, Boston University, Syracuse University, University of Northridge, Santa Monica College and Azusa Pacific. Robyn is an annual panel moderator at Realscreen in Washington, DC – an unscripted entertainment industry conference. A wife and mother of two, Robyn currently serves on the board of directors for LA Family Housing, the city’s largest affordable housing non-profit organization committed to helping families transition out of homelessness and poverty, and also on the Hollywood Diversity Association’s advisory board.
