Michael Kagan is a founding partner at ICM Partners, a talent and literary agency representing clients in the fields of motion pictures, television, publishing, music, theater, branded entertainment and digital media. Mr. Kagan oversees the agency’s International Television and Media Department. With offices in Los Angeles, New York and London, the department represents clients and intellectual properties worldwide and encompasses scripted and reality television packaging, format adaptations, new media projects, books and other literary source materials adapted for television.
In 2015, Mr. Kagan became head of the International Television and Media Department. He has helped to branch Ellen DeGeneres’ A Very Good Production into the non-scripted world by closing three broadcast network deals, including NBC’s hit series Little Big Shots, hosted by Steve Harvey and the upcoming First Dates on NBC. Mr. Kagan also negotiated the deal for Nick Cannon to return as host of NBC’s America's Got Talent, summer’s #1 hit show, which is now celebrating its milestone 11th season. He has built a remarkable business representing production entities such as 10x10 (America's Next Top Model), Nick Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment (MTV2’s Wild 'N Out), Ellen DeGeneres’ A Very Good Production, and All3Media America (CBS’ Emmy Award-winning Undercover Boss), among others. In addition to representing production companies, Mr. Kagan oversees the careers of showrunners working in broadcast and cable television and represents on-air talent whose careers have been expanded into multiple sectors of the agency’s business.
Mr. Kagan joined the agency in 2003. He started in the mailroom before being promoted to agent in International Television and Media Department. He became the agency’s youngest partner in 2013.
Mr. Kagan is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
