Marissa Ronca

Marissa Ronca is the vice president of program development at truTV overseeing all aspects of the network’s new programming slate. Ronca joined the network in 2007 as senior director of development and was focused on expanding the brand away from exclusively crime & law enforcement programming. She has headed up the development team responsible for one of the most successful rebrands in cable history with projects like Hardcore Pawn, Impractical Jokers, South Beach Tow and the upcoming Guinness World Records™ Gone Wild!

Before coming to truTV, Ronca was director of development at TLC and Discovery Home Channel, where she was responsible for cultivating original programming for daytime and primetime series and specials. In this position she developed the successful series Little People, Big World, LA Ink and Say Yes to the Dress.

Ronca began her career with Discovery Communications Inc. in 2001. Over the next few years, she worked in production and development for Discovery Onboard/VOD and Discovery Networks International. In 2005, Ronca left Discovery and joined Brainbox Productions, an independent production company. While there she developed, wrote and produced original programming for such networks as HGTV, Court TV, Style and Discovery.

Ronca’s documentary film work includes serving as executive producer on the feature Crazy Sexy Cancer. She also produced the 2006 independent scripted feature film The Guatemalan Handshake.

Ronca is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
