Philip Kalin-Hajdu joined Media Ranch 7 years ago as Head of Content and Storytelling and, since 2021, has managed sales and distribution for the US territory alongside president Sophie Ferron. He has worked directly with the producers, networks and buyers in the US and spearheads various growth initiatives for the company.  He runs Media Ranch’s annual format incubator “Horsepower”, which fosters new talent with partners TF1, Quebecor, and The Fabrique Des Formats. The formats created under his watch have sold around the world. Alongside his role at Media Ranch, Philip is a two-time Canadian Screen Award nominated producer. He is producer of the viral web-series “YidLife Crisis”; producer and writer behind the upcoming horror feature “Mom”, starring Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”), François Arnaud (“Surface”), and Christian Convery (“Cocaine Bear”); and producer of Jenn Wexler’s feature “The Sacrifice Game” starring Mena Massoud (“Aladdin") and Olivia Scott Welch ("Fear Street”). He is producer and co-writer of the genre festival hit “Game of Death”, which world-premiered at SXSW and had an award-winning international festival run before landing on VOD and AMC’s genre-SVOD service Shudder.  He is producer of the Virtual Reality BBC documentary series “Missing Pictures” (Tribeca premiere), featuring “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke; in addition to the upcoming epic VR experience “Lights”, in association with Epic Games’ Mega-Grants. Philip is a guest speaker at multiple institutions and festivals, including SXSW, and a jury member for film-funding agencies. He is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the International Emmys).
