Nancy Daniels has served as Executive Vice President of Production and Development, West for Discovery Channel since 2011. In January 2013, she expanded her duties and was also named General Manager of Discovery Fit and Health. Daniels now oversees all operations for the network, including development and programming.
During her tenure with Discovery Channel, Daniels has supervised all execution for the network’s programming, including such long running series as Deadliest Catch and American Chopper, newer hits Gold Rush, Fast ‘N Loud, Bering Sea Gold and Devils Ride, live specials that include Chopper Live, and documentaries such as Frozen Planet and Africa. Her recent projects include All The President’s Men Revisited, The Presidents' Gatekeepers and Skywire Live With Nik Wallenda.
Daniels earlier served as SVP of Production and Development at Discovery Channel’s sister network, TLC. While at TLC, Daniels oversaw the launch of such diverse hits as Sister Wives, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Cake Boss, the Policewomen franchise, and Four Weddings. At the same time, she guided the strength and resurgence of TLC’s long running hits, What Not To Wear, American Chopper, Say Yes To The Dress, and LA Ink.
Daniels joined Discovery Communications in 2007 as Vice President of Development and Production for Discovery Studios-West, and was subsequently elevated to Senior Vice President.
Previously, Daniels was at CBS where she served as Vice President of Alternative Series Development. In this role, she worked on CBS's key reality properties including Survivor, multiple Emmy Award-winner The Amazing Race, Big Brother, Rock Star and others.
