Courtney White

HGTV and DIY Network

Courtney White is the vice president of program development and production for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Home Category brands, HGTV and DIY Network. In this role, White oversees the program development for both brands, including strengthening the category’s ties to the production community. She is responsible for facilitating original programming ideas and managing several series, specials and pilots currently in production. White is also charged with identifying new on-air talent and developing multi-platform programs to accompany new programming.

For seven years, White served as HGTV’s director of development and helped launch many long-running series including Color Splash, My First Place and Selling New York. She also created numerous series and specials, including top-rated Selling Spelling Manor, Home by Novogratz, Junk Gypsies and the upcoming series Scoring the Deal and Hawaii Life. She began handling program production in 2010.

Before joining HGTV in 2005, she was a director of development and a senior producer at Working Dog Productions where she developed the Emmy nominated HBO documentary Dealing Dogs, National Geographic Channel’s Living with Exotics and Designer Dogs, PBS’s The Adirondacks, episodes of Court TV’s Masterminds and History's Texas: Big America.

With more than a decade of experience as a producer and writer, White’s credits include HBO’s Emmy-winning Through a Child’s Eyes: September 11, 2001 and DGA award-winning 'Twas the Night. She has written and produced a dozen hours of A&E Biography, produced National Geographic’s Plagues series and co-produced PBS’s John Gardner: Uncommon American. White also produced IFC’s feature comedy May the Best Man Win, starring Horatio Sanz, Rob Riggle and Matt Walsh.

White holds a BFA in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a volunteer filmmaker for Girls Prep, a consortium of single sex charter schools in New York City.
