Sara Helman joined TLC in October 2015 as the Vice President of Program Development, helping to oversee development strategy and programming initiatives for the network. Helman is currently working on the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff series, Darcey & Stacey and has previously worked on shows including 90 Day Fiancé: 90 Days the Other Way, Smothered, I Love a Mama’s Boy and Unexpected. She is based in the New York office and reports to Jason Sarlanis, SVP of Development, TLC.
Helman first started at Discovery in 2003 as part of the development team for Discovery Kids, then went on to develop and produce hit programming for Animal Planet, Food Network, and Destination America.
Helman graduated from the University of Michigan where she double majored in English Literature and Film Studies. She loves forcing her husband to watch reality TV with her, and cooking sweet treats with her kids in her free time!
