Endemol Shine North America

Sharon Levy was named President, Unscripted and Scripted Television, Endemol Shine North America, in August 2017.

Levy currently oversees all of Endemol Shine North America’s unscripted and scripted programming efforts from the company’s North Hollywood, Ca., headquarters. Since joining Endemol Shine North America, Levy has transformed the studio’s production team and developed original series with such marquis talent as Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Gal Gadot, Will Arnett, John Cusack, Steve Zaillian, Andrew Scott, Gillian Flynn and more.

Levy and her team have launched numerous series with major broadcast, cable and streaming platforms in 2020, including reboots of The Biggest Loser (USA Network), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (HGTV), as well as the launch of new competition series LEGO Masters on FOX. A reboot of classic obstacle competition series Wipeout (TBS) will debut in 2021.

Levy is also overseeing the launch of several high-profile scripted series, including the production of Utopia for Amazon Prime, a scripted thriller based on the British series of the same name. Gillian Flynn, the best-selling author and screenwriter of Golden Globe-nominated Gone Girl, is behind the nine-episode adaptation.

And physical production will start later this year in Italy for Ripley, which is headed to Showtime and based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. The series is being written and directed by Oscar-winner Zaillian and stars Fleabag star Scott.

 

Levy originally joined Endemol Shine from Spike TV, where she last served as Executive Vice President, Original Series for the cable network. During her seven years at Spike TV (now Paramount Network), Levy oversaw the acquisition, creation, and production of all entertainment throughout the network’s evolution. Levy revamped Spike’s programming lineup with hits such as Ink Master, Bar Rescue, Auction Hunters and Deadliest Warrior.

In addition to unscripted programming, Levy led Spike’s charge into scripted fare with such series as Tut, starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Waco, led by Taylor Kitsch and Michael Shannon. Levy also established a push into documentaries at Spike, launching numerous specials including TIME: The Kalief Browder Story from Jay-Z. Levy, who served as an Executive Producer on the project, was recently honored with the prestigious Peabody Award for the six-part special.

Levy originally joined Spike in 2005, as Senior Vice President, Original Series and developed numerous high-profile shows including Deadliest Warrior, Pros vs. Joes, 1000 Ways to Die and4th and Long.

Prior to her tenure at Spike, Levy served as Senior Vice President and Executive Producer at Stone Stanley Entertainment. There she oversaw all aspects of development for the company, including the development and launch of breakout series such as The Mole, Popstars, and The Joe Schmo Show.   

Levy began her career at Comedy Central, where, as Director, Public Relations, she launched publicity campaigns for innovative series including South Park, The Man Show and Win Ben Stein’s Money.
