Based in Los Angeles, Merritt spearheads the creation, development and sales of non-scripted series and content as she leads the development team in business growth.
eOne‘s current slate of unscripted programming includes Ladies’ Night (BET) featuring Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Spinderella and SWV; Ex on the Beach (MTV) which debuted as the network’s highest-rated non-Jersey Shore unscripted series launch in over 4 years; Siesta Key (MTV) from the producers of Laguna Beach; LadyGang (E!), an interview and pop culture series based on the Podcast of the Year-winner of the same name; Hustle In Brooklyn (BET); Growing Up Hip Hop; Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta and the recently announced Growing Up Hip Hop: New York (WE tv).
Prior successes include 2017 Emmy® nominee LA Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later (A&E); Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. (A&E), the first biography to be authorized by the rapper’s estate; Hustle In Brooklyn and Death Row Chronicles for BET; The Hollywood Puppet Sh!t Show (Fuse) from executive producer Wilmer Valderrama; and America Says (GSN) with host John Michael Higgins.
Before joining eOne, Merritt was the Founder of Mad Ave Entertainment, a company she created to develop television, branded entertainment and digital content. With Mad Ave Entertainment, Merritt sold shows to TLC, Up, VH1 and HGTV. Under her leadership, Mad Ave Entertainment most recently received an eight-episode series pick-up at HGTV to expand the franchise of their very successful show, Flip or Flop to Nashville, TN.
Prior to Mad Ave Entertainment, Merritt was Senior Vice President of Series and Development at Ish Entertainment, where she oversaw the West Coast development. While at Ish she developed and shepherded a number of projects including All About Aubrey (Oxygen), Fix My Family (WeTV), Girlfriend Confidential: LA (Oxygen), Empire Girls (Style), T.I.’s Road to Redemption (MTV) and 50 Cent: The Money and the Power (MTV).
Simultaneously, Merritt headed up the creation and sale of the Google YouTube Channel, Uno Dos Tres, a Hispanic digital channel targeted at second- and third-generation Latinos. Merritt began her career in New York working for VH1, CMT and Logo in Acquisitions and Co-Productions.
