Winona Meringolo is the Senior Vice President of Development for Investigation Discovery and American Heroes Channel. ID is the preeminent true crime destination, ranking #1 for W25-54 and P25-54 in Total Day and #1 length of tune in cable for P25-54. ID is available in more than 160 countries and territories (including the U.S.), delivering over 650 premiere hours a year of mystery and suspense programming that fully immerses and engages audiences.
Meringolo provides leadership and creative direction for the network and is responsible for the conceptualization and development of several hit ID series, including but not limited to: Evil Lives Here, Body Cam, People Magazine Investigates, American Monster, Village of the Damned, See No Evil, Dead of Winter, Dark Waters, Lake Erie and Someone You Thought You Knew. As Head of Development for American Heroes Channel, Winona oversees the strategic vision of the network, as well as development of numerous programs, including fan-favorites UFO’s: The Lost Evidence, America: Facts vs. Fiction, Hitler: The Definitive Guide and Blood and Fury: America's Civil War.
Prior to her work on ID and AHC, Meringolo was the Manager of Development for TLC, where she was the lead development executive on key programs including Extreme Couponing and Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. Meringolo first joined Discovery in 2005 as a part of the Discovery Health Channel development team and held a position as Head of Development for Discovery Digital Media. Before joining Discovery Communications, Meringolo worked in development on the feature film side of the business in Los Angeles, CA.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Meringolo is based in Discovery Communications’ New York office.
