Nicole Reed

SVP of Development

National Geographic Channels

Nicole Reed is Vice President of Development at National Geographic Channels (NGC) based in New York City. Reed is responsible for the development and the greenlight of new series and specials for the network, as well as building relationships with east coast- and U.K.-based production companies.

From 2011 to 2014, Reed was Director, Nonfiction and Alternative Programming at A&E. She was responsible for the development of programming on A&E and Bio, where she partnered and built relationships with external production companies, and served as executive producer and oversaw production for all pilots and several key series. Reed developed and served as executive producer on The Herbert Brothers and Big Smo (w.t.) and three seasons of A&E's original series Barter Kings. At Bio she oversaw more than 80 hours a year of content on the development, acquisitions and production side. Her credits at Bio included <em>My Haunted House, Reincarnated: Past Lives, Deadly Wives and Killer Kids.

From 2008 to 2011, Reed was Manager of Development at Discovery Channel. Her many accolades include American Guns, which ran for three seasons. She also developed numerous specials including the Andy Samberg and Mike Rowe double header SharkCity.

She began her career as a unit production manager in independent film production.
