Michael Branton is an Emmy Award-winning television producer and the key creative at GRB Entertainment. Michael helped innovate a television genre with the critically acclaimed series,Intervention, as Executive Producer on the pilot and all 205 episodes of the groundbreaking A&E series.

Michael’s other credits as Executive Producer/Co-Creator include TLC’sSex Sent Me to the ER; WEtv’sPregnant & Dating; A&E’sGrowing Up Gotti; Lifetime’sStarving Secrets with Tracey Gold; Discovery Life’sOutrageous Births: Tales from the Crib, and HLN’s#redflag, with co-EP Kim Kardashian.

A native of San Francisco, Michael began his career as a freelance journalist for Rolling Stone, New West and The Bay Guardian. Starting while still in college, Michael was sent on assignments around the world covering classic rock (Pink Floyd), punk rock (the Clash), 80’s rock (the Police), metal (Ozzy Osbourne), and the legends of rock (BB King, Little Richard).

Michael brought his pop culture sensibilities to television with the seminal production company, VideoWest, which produced cutting-edge programming likeBackstage Passfor ABC,Rolling with the Stonesfor HBO,The Who: FarewellandThe Essential Frank Zappafor MTV,Radioactive Videofor PBS, andTake Offfor TNT.

As Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, at GRB Entertainment, Michael has overseen more than 2,000 hours of primetime programming for virtually every broadcast and cable network. Along the way, he won an Emmy Award, and accolades from the New York Festival and the Houston International Film Festival. Michael is a member of the Writers Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
