Josh Greenbaum

Behind the Mask

Josh Greenbaum is an Emmy award-winning writer/director who has written and directed film and television projects for Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, Sony, Columbia, Fox, ABC, Funny or Die, CBS, Hulu and Netflix.  He recently finished producing and directing the first season of a 10-episode docu-series for Hulu called Behind the Mask, about the lives of sports mascots, which was just nominated for an Emmy.  Prior to that, his feature-length documentaryThe Short Game, which explores the highly competitive world of international kids’ golf, won numerous awards, including the SXSW Audience Award.  He also recently co-wrote and directed a short film for the Clinton Foundation and Funny or Die called Clinton Foundation: Celebrity Division, that starred Ben Stiller, Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Kevin Spacey, Sean Penn, Mary Steenburgen, Jack Black, Ted Danson and President Bill Clinton.  He is currently attached to direct a feature comedy film for Fox and also recently directed an episode of The Neighbors for ABC.  Previously, he attended Cornell, Oxford, and USC's School of Cinematic Arts where he won the Grand Prize for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award and his short film, The Morning Routine, played in over 21,000 theaters. While in film school, he won two Emmys for a documentary he directed in Zambia for PBS, won a Golden Popcorn Statue for mtvU's "Best Filmmaker on Campus Award" at the MTV Movie Awards, and partnered with Ivan Reitman to write and direct a web series based on his short film Border Patrol for Comedy Central which was then developed into a television series. He also created, co-wrote and directed a web series called Homeland Insecurity that was sold to CBS. He lives in Burbank with his wife and 2 year-old twin daughters.
