As director of production and development management for Travel Channel, one of Scripps Networks’ Interactive’s lifestyle television brands, Bethany Latham manages the production team and resources with a focus on implementation of standards and process as well as managing the development pipeline.
Latham started at Travel Channel as the executive assistant to the senior vice president of programming and development before advancing to the role of programming manager. As such she oversaw the entire development process, evaluated program ideas through Travel Channel’s editorial filter and managed the programming of pilots, specials and paid development projects.
Prior to joining Travel Channel, Latham held communications positions at a variety of non-profits including the Ocean Conservancy, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.
Latham holds a master’s degree in producing for film and video from American University and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a concentration in public relations and journalism from Towson University. She is an active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Women in Film & Video, and TIVA-DC.
