Camila Jimenez Villa is CEO of FMG Studios, Fusion Media Group’s (FMG) premium original content division. In this role Camila oversees FMG’s content strategy across the portfolio including the development and production of original premium IP for both internal and external platforms, leveraging the strength of our digital brands as well as the increased market appetite for authentic, story-driven content. This includes the oversight of both Story House Entertainment and Onion Studios, two of FMG’s internal content production houses.
Jimenez Villa was recently featured by Variety as one of ‘Hollywood New Leaders’ in television during 2016. Ad Age named Jimenez Villa to their ‘Media Mavens’ list for her efforts to make Univision and the Fusion Media Group “a one-stop shop for today's diverse, millennial media consumer.”
Prior to the launch of FMG, Jimenez Villa served as Vice President of CEO Projects and Analytics at Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. As a key member of the leadership team, she worked with the Company’s senior leaders to help drive strategy, growth, and operational initiatives, supporting programs aimed at transforming the company, and acting as a liaison between the Chief Executive Officer and other constituencies, both internal and external. She also served as senior director of Content Partnerships at UCI where she led the development of Univision’s broadband channels and made-for-web offerings to deliver against multi-platform growth and audience development goals.
Before joining Univision in 2011, Jimenez Villa was managing director at Cut the Papaya, an independent film production company she co-founded.
Jimenez Villa holds an M.B.A in strategy and finance from New York University, a postgraduate degree in film from The National Film and Television School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Italy’s Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione IULM.
