Sharon Scott is the President and General Manager of Peacock Productions, a division of NBC News. Peacock Productions is NBCUniversal’s non-fiction production company specializing in all genres of non-scripted programming, including live events, such as Nik Wallenda’s Skywalk, docu-dramas, narrative crime series, breaking news specials, and documentaries.
The team at Peacock Productions produces multiple series and specials across the NBCUniversal platforms and in partnership with 25-plus outside cable clients and global partners. Peacock has offices in New York, London and Los Angeles. Scott is also one of three NBC executives on the board of The Weather Company, representing NBCUniversal's ownership stake in the company. Additionally, she serves as the executive liaison between NBC News and The Weather Channel, with oversight of all live and long-form programming at the network, and was the interim president of The Weather Channel for four months in 2013.
Scott is a 25-year veteran of NBC News. Before founding Peacock, she was executive producer and general manager of NBC News Productions and NBC Media Productions. She was a member of the executive team for Dateline and Now, with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric.
Scott joined NBC News in 1990 as news director for WTVJ-TV, NBC’s Owned and Operated station in Miami. Her honors include a number of national news Emmy awards in addition to a George Foster Peabody award, an Alfred I. duPont award, and an Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of Hurricane Andrew.
