Tim is Co-Bro at Ugly Brother Studios. A collaboration with his twin brother Mike, they create and produce unscripted formats, docuseries and specials for US and International broadcasters. Current projects include MTV’s new series House of Food, pilots with MTV and Spike, and development deals with both Tru TV and Viacom.
Tim began his career as a Production Manager at Dick Clark Productions, working primarily on variety and broadcast game shows. But as a writer, he was drawn towards the creative side of the business. Just as the sonic boom of “reality TV” was hitting the entertainment industry, Duffy transitioned into producing, writing and network development.
In 2004, he joined Spike TV and was responsible for several of Spike’s earliest hits in the elusive young male demo including Manswers, Pros vs. Joes and Deadliest Warrior. As the network evolved in search of a broader demo, Duffy delivered with shows like DEA, Jesse James is a Dead Man and Coal. In 2010, Tim was promoted to Senior Vice President, Original Series and made his mark yet again with shows that continue to deliver for Spike including Auction Hunters, Ink Master and Bar Rescue.
In 2009, Duffy was selected for TV Week magazine’s “Hot List”- a list of 10 of the most promising under 35 players in the television industry and in 2010, he was selected by Multichannel News for their “Top 40 Under 40” list.
Before working in television, Duffy worked as a behavioral therapist in special education. He earned his undergraduate degree from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland and resides in Mar Vista, California with his wife and two sons.
