Having been named president of National Geographic Channels in November of 2011, Howard T. Owens, a founding partner at Reveille, has worked with CEO David Lyle to invigorate the venerable brand’s television group while remaining true to National Geographic’s legacy of exploration and authenticity. Programming highlights for the network include strong performances from original factual series such as Doomsday Preppers, Brain Games and Wicked Tuna, and its factual drama efforts including Killing Lincoln and SEAL Team Six, which broke ratings records for the net. Here, Owens will discuss his vision for NGC, and the role non-fiction, and non-fiction producers, will play in making it a reality.
